Just ten minutes from the Air Force Academy's North Gate, there is found an arena of tremendous recreational opportunities. The Santa Fe trail which runs parallel to I-25 and is on Academy property is a fabulous place to hike, bike, and walk. With its 18,000 acres running along the foothills of the Front Range, the Air Force Academy is the nation's largest service Academy. The Academy welcomes civilians for football games in its stadium as well as other events like basketball, hockey, soccer, and even musical venues from some tremendously-gifted musicians.

Located within a stone's throw is the Western Museum of Mining and Industry. On its premises on Mondays and Wednesdays throughout the summer, a farmer's market sells fresh vegetables which are locally grown in Pueblo along with breads, meats and much more. This museum holds dynamic-guided tours and maintains interactive exhibits and educational events. Children of all ages learn about mining in the past, the present and the future. Burro mascots Oro and Nugget live on the museum grounds.

With its panoramic views and old-growth trees, townhomes, patio homes, and custom homes, Gleneagle is a great place to settle. The overall goal of Gleneagle is to have a distinctive locale that reflects its own special character and sense of community. The Gleneagle Civic Association actively hosts events like the community-wide annual garage sale and clean-up that maintains the grassy islands looking superb.
